Its simple to be happy, but difficult to be simple.

My brother asked me to write my views on that adage. To write on this topic we are inevitably tied to the internet or wo'man'-made machines known as computers. PCs aka personal computers, are called so to humanize machines. Labelling it as personal removes the barrier between the unknown and the known. When I was in Edmonton recently visiting my beloved family of friends, I limited myself to 1 hour of internet time the whole period I was there ( I was there for 18 days). And..? I am glad you also ask that question. And.. I LOVED it. I did not face any direct influence from computers or the messages they transcribed. But,.. my parents wondered where I was, some other friends trying to reach me on it wondered where I was... and ya, I missed an email from my university telling me to pay up my fees or else.. lol. I am glad you are wondering where I am going with this. And that my fellow humans is the whole point. So many things are happening in our lives. And we are constantly facing the influence or fleeing it. We are inevitably intertwined with other people, other matters, our matters, the subliminal symbolic world of media, governments, policies, hardware malfunctions, search for goddesses, new experiences.. and ofcourse the search for understanding. There is no single truth.. and our search for "truths" are simply floppy discs that store certain information, and then get deleted easily when we have new information. Discussions like this may facilitate making that floppy disc read-only so that we retain these discs as time goes by. "It is simple to be happy" ha! Says who?! I fundamentally disagree with that simplistic blurb. And to make it worse, it is adjoined by "its not easy to be simple" Duhh. Anything that is well thought out and balanced in this constantly evolving world cannot be simple. It is a given. So why try and state the obvious. Going back to my "intertwined statement", there are way too many things going on in my life. Some things are complicated and some are not. I am happy sometimes, and sometimes not. c'est ce que c'est.
